Q. How does Ready-to-Meet work?
A. When you sign up for this service, MDS New England provides you with a permanent, toll-free dial in telephone number and two passcodes: one for you (as the conference host) and the other for your conference participants. When you want to have an audioconference, notify your participants and provide them with the dial in telephone number and participant passcode. At conference time, simply dial into your conference. That's it! You can conduct a conference from any touch-tone telephone.

Q. How many conference lines can I reserve?
A. You can reserve up to 40 conference lines. These conference lines are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You are never charged for lines that you don't use.

Q. What do I do if I need more lines than I originally reserved?
A. Simply call the MDS Ready-to-Meet service team at 1-800-777-8964 and increase the number of conference lines up to the maximum of 40 lines per account.

Q. As the host, what features are available to me on the conference?
A. Your host passcode provides you with several unique meeting control options. Following is a list of these telephone keypad commands:

*0 - Help (signals an operator) - This feature is also available to conference participants
*5 - Lecture/unlecture the call (mutes every other line but the host's)
*7 - Lock/unlock the call (once this function is enabled, no one else may join the conference)
*8 - Voice Roster - plays back a list of all participants on the call.
*9 - Number of participants on the call,

In addition, as the host you also have the following dial out options available to you:
*1 - To access a line and dial tone to call out to an additional participant
*2 - Place the participant you called and yourself back into the conference
*3 - To hang up the participant you called and place yourself back into the conference.

Q. During my audioconference, can I get in touch with an operator? How?
A. Yes, there is always an operator available by pressing * 0 on your telephone keypad. The operator answers your request by pulling you out of conference and speaking to you one-on-one. You will then be returned to your conference.

Conference Security

Q. How do I prevent individuals from joining my conference?
A. You can "lock" your conference call and prevent additional participants from joining your conference by pressing * 7 on your telephone keypad. You will hear two beeps when the "Lock" feature is enabled and three beeps when it's turned off. (When this function is enabled, no one else may join the conference including the conference operator.)

Q. How do I know when someone has entered or exited my conference?
A. When a participant joins your conference, you will hear a tone followed by a voice recording of the participant's name. The same process occurs when a participant exits the conference, you will hear a tone followed by the name of the participant who has exited the conference.

Q. Can participants have a conference call without the host?
A. As a security measure, all conference participants will hear music until the host dials into the conference. In addition, when the conference host hangs up, the conference is automatically disconnected.
